The First Charterhouse

Days of feverish work begin. In no time arise small wooden cells where each monk will live, the rectory, the capitular, the kitchen and naturally the church. Begun in 1084, the first Charterhouse will be called “Santa Maria de Casalibus”.

It will resist till 30. 01. 1132 when an avalanche will break over it, burying some of the constructions and killing seven monks.
